Welcome to the Bragg Creek Performing Arts Newsletter with information on our upcoming concerts, Bragg Creek Festival, Season Tickets and our 30th season ... 2010 - 2011.

Luke Doucet and the White Falcon, May 1, 2010
Our final Main Series Concert This Season
LD Canadian singer/songwriter Luke Doucet is a difficult figure to pin down. On the one hand, he is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose songs sound like a prairie-bred and countrified Elliott Smith; on the other, he spent several years as the leader of the spacy neo-psych rockers Veal, Vancouver's answer to the Flaming Lips.

A proud and vocal member of Canada's exploding indie music scene, Doucet also pays the bills as a studio musician and producer for decidedly non-indie acts like Sarah McLachlan and Chantal Kreviazuk. Doucet was born and raised in Manitoba, where he initially planned to become a lawyer before the guitar became his primary obsession. He moved to Vancouver and formed Veal in the mid-'90s, when bands such as Zumpano and Cub were making the coastal city Canada's primary indie pop mecca.

Performing with Luke will be his wife Melissa McClelland of whom the Globe and Mail said: “unforgettable... a coolly expressive singer, a gorgeously gritty lyricist, and a vivid painter of pop noir.”

Please note: Luke Doucet prefers to play an uninterrupted concert. There will be only a single ~90 minute set at this concert. Season Ticket Sales and the Bar will be open prior to the concert AND after the concert.

See our web site for more information and tickets.

Season Tickets for 2010 - 2011
Build Your Own Season Ticket
BCPA Season Tickets will be a bit different in 2010 - 2011. Instead of us packaging Main and Spotlight Series, you get to build your own package. Pick the shows you want to see or are able to attend ... or pick all of them. The more shows you buy, the greater the discount. Scroll down a bit to see our 2010 - 2011 artist lineup or visit our web site. Remember, as a Bragg Creek Performing Arts Season Ticketholder, if you are unable to attend a show, you can call 403-949-4114 and arrange to bring some guests to another show.

Here's how the Season Ticket works ... Pick the shows you want (We'd love to see you at all of them) and get the following discounts:

  • Buy 4 shows and get 10% off the total
  • Buy 5 shows and get 11% off the total
  • Buy 6 shows and get 12% off the total
  • Buy all 7 shows and get 15% off the total

This special pricing will only be available from May 1, 2010 to May 8, 2010. After May 8, all concerts will be at full price. This special pricing will be available at Patron's Appreciation Night, May 1, via our ticket number 403-949-4114 or through our online ticket sales.

Also new for the 2010 - 2011 season, single tickets will be available after May 8, 2010 instead of starting sale in August.

With Bragg Creek Performing Arts, what you see is what you pay (except with this discount where you pay less than what you see). There are no additional fees, taxes or surcharges!

More details will be available at Patron's Appreciation Night on May 1 and on our web site.

Also from May 1 to May 8, 2010, Bragg Creek Festival tickets (not including Youthtopia) will be available with a 10% discount.
