Marc Atkinson has been on our stage as a member of The Bills and the Marc Atkinson Trio. The Marc Atkinson Trio was a headline act at the 2009 Bragg Creek Festival, as well. Marc Atkinson is one of the finest guitarists we have ever seen and Marc returns with something different ... his Electric Project.
Last year, Marc Atkinson brought
together four musicians who have a love for electric music and blues/funk
grooves. This project features, Marc Atkinson on electric guitar, Bill Hick’s
“dream drummer” on kit, Scott White on electric bass and Chad Geekie on keys.
Marc Atkinson is an innovative guitar player and composer of note. He is the leader, composer and co-producer for THE MARC ATKINSON TRIO and is a member and founders of the award-winning THE BILLS. Amongst his many awards, the Marc Atkinson Trio II was named one of the top five CDs released in North America by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Marc is a two-time JUNO nominee and won the Outstanding Performers of the Year at the 2007 Western Canadian Music Awards with the Bills.
Bill Hicks is a natural virtuoso on the drums and has been since childhood. He was the winner of the National Best Drummer of Canada Award for two years running at the inconceivably early ages of 15 and 16. He was a long-term member of the Powder Blues Band and fronted his own band Wonderbread. He has performed with the likes of Diana Krall, Veggie and Phil Dwyer. In Canada, he has performed at festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Blues Festival and the Vancouver Blues Festival. He has toured in Europe extensively and does session work for recording artists in LA and San Francisco.
Scott White is one of Canada’s best bass players. He now resides in Berlin from which he tours the world and where was the long-time band leader and bass player for the German division of Cirque du Soliel. Chad Geekie is an extraordinary keyboard player who is a widely sought after performer.

Opening
for Marc Atkinson will be Emily Jill West.
Hailing from the Foothills of Alberta, Emily Jill West has passed the last year touring across Canada solo, and with fellow musicians Megan Lickley & Heather Kelday. She recently finished recording her debut EP - And Human, Besides - and is in the midst of filming an independent music video for the title track 'As I Go'. Emily Jill blends folk-pop with the dissonant tones of cabaret and old-time country, achieving an acoustic sound that is both unique and timeless.
