Friends and colleagues Raylene Rankin, Cindy Church, and
Susan Crowe, all award winning recording artists, bring their
varied musical signatures to the stage in a mix of elegance and
accessibility.
Folk, country, jazz, contemporary singer-songwriter are blended with a confident ease that makes for richly textured harmonies and a welcoming rapport that invites audiences in, and makes them want to stay.
Raylene Rankin is best known for her part of the Rankin Family and the Rankin Sisters, but her solo work has long stood apart on its own as solidly creative. She brings an unerring taste to her song choice, and as a writer, has an instinctive ear for what makes a song. These two things alone make for excellence. Add to that her voice, as incomparable as hand-cut crystal - and equally beautiful - you have the first part of this musical triumvirate.
Cindy Church is simply one of the finest singers in Canada today. Over the last few decades, she has cemented her position in Canadian music history with her reputation as a vocalist and a writer. Her work with Quartette, Lunch at Allen’s, and The Nearness of You (the Hoagy Carmichael tribute) illustrates the range of her ability and her musical flexibility. Her honeyed voice, her song writing and her intuitive and creative harmonies add the next component to this combination of talents.
Susan Crowe provides the final angle to complete the equation. She’s described as a writer’s writer, whose eyes and ears never wander far from the lyric. Hers is a graceful, well-designed writing, subtle in its craft and message, and varied in its style. She also brings her voice, unquestionably the darkest of the three, providing a kind of harmonic shade to this musical geometry.
Together they are more than the sum of those parts. They are Rankin, Church and Crowe.

"Three of this region's most gifted singer-songwriters have embarked on a musical partnership that holds great promise for lovers of acoustic folk/roots music.
Pooling their considerable talents to form this trio are Raylene Rankin, who achieved international stardom as a member of The Rankins, Cindy Church, who has experienced success as a solo artist and as a member of both Quartette and Lunch at Allen's, and Susan Crowe.
Only good things can come from this union."
