Guitar
Virtuoso Calum Graham has been blasting his way through the Alberta music scene
in the short 5 years he’s been playing. From the small town of High River,
Alberta he is truly a unique talent that is destined for the “World Stage”.
Known as “The kid with the Golden Hands”; this 18-year–old fretwork phenom has a
dynamic and upbeat style, and is at the forefront of a new generation in music.
2010 has been nothing short of a ride. With a showcase at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, an audition for Disney Music and Hollywood records, and performances at some of Canada’s finest Folk Festivals, Calum is starting to gather a name for himself, across the nation. His most recent highlight was at the Canadian Guitar Festival in Ontario, where he finished First place, and claimed his title from placing second, the previous year. This is the first time a teenager has ever won this prestigious competition, and CBC radio and the “SUN” newspaper covered his follow-up story all over Canada.
Born and raised just south of Bragg Creek, Robert started playing guitar in
grade 7, and its all been uphill from there. Dedicating all his spare time and
energy to his craft Robert honed in on what made him happiest about performing
and that was sharing his ideas, his passion and dreams with those willing to
listen. Optimism and creativity are Robert's greatest assets, and all he wants
to do with his music is make those around him as hopeful, happy and eager to
help others as he is.
Melissa
Papp is an 18 year old Calgary musician. She was a member of Michael Bernard
Fitzgerald’s choir and was then given a chance to open for him in Edmonton while
he was on tour. Melissa is now working as a soloist artist and had the
opportunity to professionally record a song of hers and shot her first music
video for the Werklund Foundation.
Her hopes for the future is to inspire those to follow their dreams as well and continue to chase her music career while travelling and attending secondary school.
