








YoUthtopia is evening of entertainment by professional, independent, under 21, Alberta based artists. It provides a opportunity for young artists to perform on stage and an opportunity for the public to hear incredibly talented musicians, singers and songwriters.
YoUthtopia helps support young artists. Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased from the artists. Tickets are also available from all our regular ticket sources and the proceeds from the concert are split between all the performing artists and a local charity. For this performance there will be no Eyego ($5 youth) tickets available.
Our first YoUthtopia was held in May 2010 at the Bragg Creek Festival. This will be the 3rd YoUthtoia.

Sarah Troy is thrilled to be hosting and performing at the third annual YoUthtopia on April 20, 2012.
Over the past year Sarah has been performing and promoting her 4th independent album release ‘A Dozen Hearts,’. Sarah’s single ‘Arson’ has been featured by Music Week and will be included in the TEA compliation CD in January 2012. This past summer Sarah studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full scholarship. Her recent live performances have been in Boston, Vancouver, Edmonton and New York City. Sarah was also featured and recorded for the Shaw Calgary Cable series , ‘A Room Full of Sound’ in September 2011. In March of 2012 Sarah will perform in Toronto as part of Canadian Music Week.
Sarah is recognized as a prolific songwriter and a captivating performer and loves to perform for large and small audiences.
Her fans are entranced by her musical talents and lyrics and amazed at her maturity and relaxed, captivating stage presence.
Aaron Pollock is a 20 year old guitarist turned singer-songwriter from Calgary, making music while working
towards his Political Science degree at the University of Alberta. He began his musical journey at an early age,
some of his first words being "V for Violin". Picking up several instruments as a kid, Aaron settled on the
guitar in his early teens. Aaron's musical tastes and influences are very diverse and constantly changing.
His sound ranges from stripped-down blues-rock to mellow and introspective acoustic music, all with undertones
of reggae, funk and soul. Within the course of one of his tunes, one might find both cheeky teenage humor and
deeply existential musings with everything in between. Aaron's musical experiences are diverse as his style,
whether from playing a sold-out New Year's Eve show with soul-rock act "The Eyes of Pearl", traveling across
Alberta for an intimate acoustic show, or having a hosting a midnight jam in his basement with drummer extraordinaire Robbie Frank.
In the summer of 2011, Aaron had the privilege of attending Berklee College of Music's 5-week program with Sarah Troy, gaining invaluable musical knowledge and making a ton of new friends. Aaron is STOKED to play Youthtopia 2012!
In 2010 Jesse entered the music scene through the Calgary Stampede Talent Search.
He was born and raised in Calgary where he plays to inspire audiences with something
of true meaning and value. His journey with the guitar has spanned most of his life and
he eats up every opportunity to expand and improve his craft. In 2011, at age 18, he
enjoyed competing in the Talent Search for his second year, finishing as third runner up,
wowing the crowd of over 500 with his dazzling acoustic fretwork. Whenever he
performs, Jesse creates an awe-inspiring ambiance that is both compelling and
powerful. His new CD will be available in 2012 at YoUthtopia.
Actively pursuing a career of writing and performing his music on the stage of the ʻArtsʻ
is his passion! He states: “Everyone is called to something special and unique;
discovering what makes us come alive with purpose and fulfillment is what I seek to
inspire people to find for themselves.”
Campus Thieves is an Edmonton and area based alternative rock band;
Mac Huddleston - drums, Ryan McGale - vocals and keyboard, Caleb Steinwandt
- guitar, Spencer Huddleston - bass, and Codie Fetter - guitar.
Known for their rhythmically charged songs and high energy presentation; Campus Thieves write and arrange their own material. Between the ages of 15 and 18, all are accomplished musicians who have been playing and studying music from an early age. In fact, three members of the band have been playing together since they were eight years old. During the past couple of summers they have performed at numerous festivals across the province and in the winter playing on stages closer to home where they can focus on their writing. Music is a way of life and an expression of their souls and they love to perform for any audience; big or small. Last summer they recorded a four song EP and are currently working on their first full length all original album.
Cole Hruska is a 14 year old singer/songwriter from Springbank, Alberta. His musical resume is already
impressive having performed with the Young Canadians, starred in musical theatre, and showcased his
vocal talents in numerous competitions like the Calgary Stampede Talent show and as a finalist in
Calgary Junior Idol. At 10 years old, Cole picked up a guitar and has been writing his own songs and
sharing his musical passion with everyone he meets. Cole’s acoustic style has been influenced by the
music of Jack Johnson, Dallas Green and Andrew Allen. Cole will be in the studio during the fall of 2011
working towards the release of his first EP in early 2012. Recently, Cole has teamed up with 13 year old
drum virtuoso Chad Clark to create their own unique sound.
Performance starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Note this is a Friday Performance
